Autoglym Rapid Ceramic Spray and Autoglym Rapid Aqua Wax Ireland

What's the difference between Autoglym Rapid Ceramic Spray and Rapid Aqua Wax?

We’re often asked about the difference between Autoglym's Rapid Ceramic Spray and Rapid Aqua Wax. Both are fantastic products with loyal followings, but how do you decide which one suits your needs? In this post, we’ll break it down for you, starting with an overview of each product.

Rapid Ceramic Spray

Rapid Ceramic Spray is designed to protect vehicle paintwork quickly and effectively. Suitable for both wet and dry surfaces, this spray-on, buff-off product enhances the gloss and colour depth of your car while offering up to three months of protection. Thanks to its advanced synthetic polymer technology, it delivers excellent resistance to detergents and outstanding hydrophobic properties, creating remarkable water beading and repellency. Plus, it’s infused with a refreshing tropical fragrance.

Rapid Aqua Wax

Rapid Aqua Wax offers a versatile solution for protecting your car’s exterior. It can be applied to wet paintwork, glass, plastic, and rubber, making it ideal for a wide range of surfaces. After washing and rinsing your vehicle, simply spray it on, spread it with a microfibre cloth, and buff to a high shine with another cloth. Unlike Ceramic Spray, Aqua Wax must be applied to wet surfaces and provides around four weeks of protection. Its formula, based on carnauba wax emulsion, is easy to work with and comes with a delightful banana scent.

Key Differences

While both products are quick to use and require only a simple spray-and-buff application, their features differ:

  • Surface Compatibility: Aqua Wax is highly versatile and suitable for multiple surfaces, while Ceramic Spray is tailored specifically for paintwork.
  • Application Conditions: Ceramic Spray can be used on both wet and dry surfaces, but Aqua Wax works only on wet surfaces.
  • Durability: Ceramic Spray offers longer-lasting protection (up to three months) compared to Aqua Wax’s four weeks.
  • Ease of Use: Aqua Wax edges ahead in simplicity, especially for less experienced users.

Ultimately, the best choice depends on your preferences and priorities. If you’re after versatility and ease of use, Aqua Wax is an excellent option. For those seeking maximum durability and a high-gloss finish on paintwork, Ceramic Spray is the way to go.
