Take the friction out of your paint correction with Pad Prime.
Every detailer knows the frustration: you’re halfway through a set, and your polish starts drying out, gumming up the pad, and throwing dust everywhere. Pad Prime is the "secret sauce" for your detailing kit, designed to keep your pads lubricated and your polish working longer and more effectively.
By pre-conditioning the pad, you ensure that the polish doesn't just soak into the foam or microfiber, but stays on the surface where the work happens. This means a smoother glide, better results, and a much easier wipe-down afterward.
Why Pad Prime is a Must-Have
- Reduces Dusting: Stops polish from drying out prematurely, keeping your workspace (and your lungs) cleaner.
- Easier Wipe-Off: Because the polish stays hydrated, removing residue from the paintwork is effortless.
- Universal Compatibility: Whether you’re a fan of foam, microfibre, or wool pads, Pad Prime works with them all.
- Better Workability: Provides a consistent "open time" for your compound or polish, allowing you to achieve a better finish in less time.
- Safe for Your Gear: It is pH-neutral, ensuring it won’t degrade your expensive pads or react poorly with your chosen polish.
Technical Specifications

- Suitability: All foam and microfibre polishing pads.
How to Use
- Prime the Pad: Give your fresh polishing pad a single, light mist of Pad Prime. You don't need to soak it—a little goes a long way.
- Apply Polish: Add your desired drops of polish or compound to the primed pad.
- Get to Work: Start your polishing cycle as usual.
- Repeat: For subsequent sections, you usually won't need to prime again unless the pad feels particularly dry.
Top Tip: Using Pad Prime is especially helpful in the Irish climate when working in slightly warmer sheds or under garage lights where polish tends to "flash" (dry) faster!
