The two-bucket wash method is a car washing technique that helps prevent scratches and swirls on your car’s paint. Its main job is to keep the dirt out of circulation. The process involves using two buckets of water: one with soapy water using a dedicated shampoo and the other with clean water . Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Fill one bucket with soapy water and the other with clean water.
  2. Dip your wash mitt into the soapy water bucket and wash a portion of the vehicle.
  3. Rinse the mitt in the clean water bucket to remove dirt and debris. A grit guard will also aid this.
  4. Dip the mitt back into the soapy water bucket and repeat the process until the entire car is clean.
  5. Work from the top to the bottom ( cleanest to grubbiest area)

Using this method helps to keep the dirt and debris you’ve wiped from the surface of the car isolated as much as possible, reducing the risk of scratching the paint. If you feel the paint is still rough to the touch after it has been cleaned it may be time to use a clay bar. We hope this helps!
